ABSTRACT
While piezoelectrics and ferroelectrics are playing a key role in many everyday applications, there still number of open questions related to the physics those materials. In order foster understanding ferroelectric pave way future nanoscale characterization these materials is essential. this light, we have developed novel AFM based mode that obtains direct quantitative analysis piezoelectric coefficient d33. This tool capable detecting reveal piezo-charge generation through effect at surface We report first images charge generated thick single crystal Periodically Poled Lithium Niobate (PPLN) Bismuth Ferrite (BiFO3) thin film by applying force recording current produced The quantification both d33 coefficients for PPLN BFO 13 +- 2 pC/N 46 7 respectively, agreement with values reported literature. new can operate simultaneously PFM providing powerful electromechanical
