ABSTRACT
Abstract Bacterial infectious diseases, such as sepsis, can lead to impaired function in the lungs, kidneys, and other vital organs. Although established technologies have been designed for extracorporeal removal of bacteria, a high flow velocity true bloodstream might result low capture efficiency prevent realization their full clinical potential. Here, we develop dialyzer made by three-dimensional carbon foam pre-grafted with nanowires isolate bacteria from unprocessed blood. The tip region polycrystalline is bent readily form nanoclaws when dragged molecular force ligand-receptor, because decreasing Young’s moduli bottom tip. bacterial was improved ~10% on ~40% unbendable single-crystalline nanowires/carbon 97% bendable fluid 10 cm s −1 velocity.
