ABSTRACT
Abstract Tooth whitening has recently become one of the most popular aesthetic dentistry procedures. Beyond classic hydrogen peroxide-based agents, photo-catalysts and piezo-catalysts have been demonstrated for non-destructive on-demand tooth whitening. However, their usage challenged due to relatively limited physical stimuli light irradiation ultrasonic mechanical vibration. To address this challenge, we report here a convenient strategy based on pyro-catalysis effect, realized via ubiquitous oral motion-induced temperature fluctuations. Degradation organic dyes is performed under cooling/heating cycling simulate natural fluctuations associated with intake speech. Teeth stained by habitual beverages flavorings can be whitened pyroelectric particles-embedded hydrogel small surrounding fluctuation. Furthermore, pyro-catalysis-based procedure exhibits therapeutic biosafety sustainability. In view exemplary demonstration, prevalent fluctuation will enable tremendous potential practical applications.
