ABSTRACT
Ultrafast dynamics in nanophotonic materials is attracting increasing attention from the perspective of exploring new physics fundamental science and expanding functionalities various photonic devices. In general, such induced by external stimuli as optical pumping or voltage application, which becomes more difficult power to be controlled larger owing increase energy required for control. Here, we demonstrate a concept self-evolving crystal, where spatial profile band dynamically changed through carrier-photon interactions only injecting continuous uniform current. Based on this concept, experimentally short-pulse generation with high peak 80 W pulse width <30 ps 1-mm-diameter GaAs-based crystal. Our findings will greatly expand potential open up scientific industrial applications.
