ABSTRACT
Distinguishing low-grade phyllodes tumor from fibroadenoma is practically challenging due to their overlapping histologic features. However, the final interpretation essential surgeons, who base management on pathology report. Patients receive a diagnosis of might not undergo any additional intervention while lumpectomy with wide margins standard care for tumor, which can have significant cosmetic consequences. We studied clinical, immunophenotypic, and proteomics profiles 31 histologically confirmed 30 fibroadenomas. Matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization (MALDI) imaging mass spectrometry (IMS) immunohistochemistry Ki-67, p53, β-catenin, E-cadherin were performed all cases. After spectra cases collected, an average peak value was generated. There no difference in overall pattern peaks identified. also overlap percentage cells staining positive E-cadherin. The two groups patients showed statistically age, size, or disease-free survival. Neither group developed malignant transformation, distant metastases, disease-related mortality. demonstrated show clinical
