ABSTRACT
To examine the interrelationship of aging extension and modification lipid metabolism under chronic caloric restriction (CCR; reduced concentration green algae Tetraselmis suecica) in monogonont rotifer Brachionus koreanus, we assessed life cycle parameters, fatty acid composition, expression sirtuin genes related to metabolism. B. koreanus 5% T. suecica group showed an increased span but decreased reproduction. Based on this finding, chose for further experiments compared data with those 100% suecica. Upregulation gene was observed CCR. In addition, despite reduction amount total (FA) area triacylglycerol, increases ratios saturated monounsaturated (MUFA) FA 5%-exposed were observed. Furthermore, mRNA analysis confirmed that CCR promoted synthesis MUFA through Δ9 desaturase. Moreover, docosahexaenoic (DHA) synthesizing Δ4 desaturase also upregulated, together DHA content. These suggest modified protein acetylation metabolism, leading a decrease reproduction consequently resulting extension.
