ABSTRACT
Abstract Climate change profoundly influences the geospatial distribution of secondary metabolites and causes geographical migration plants. We planted seedlings same species in eighteen ecological regions along a latitudinal gradient eastern western China, order to explore regulation multi-climatic factors on active ingredient accumulation Salvia miltiorrhiza Bunge. The correlations between six contents ten climatic were investigated clarify their relationships. found that not only regulated but also markedly influenced composition led specific these ingredients China. main include air temperature, precipitation, atmospheric vapour pressure sunshine duration. Future warming high-latitude could cause continued northward expansion planting areas suitable for S. . effect extreme conditions should be overlooked. findings this study can help farmers scientifically choose cultivation future. Furthermore, provides an innovative idea exploration metabolic responses changing medicinal
