ABSTRACT
The aim of this study was to analyse the differences in A-S profile elite football players induced by playing position and microcycle day. Players belonged a second division club Spanish La Liga competition. They were classified into five positions: central defenders (CD), full backs (FB), midfielders (MF), wide (WMF) forwards (FW). Microcycle days categorised according until matchday (MD, MD-1, MD-2, MD-3, MD-4 MD-5). Data collected along six microcycles, including one match per microcycle. variables analysed were: maximal theoretical acceleration (A0), speed (S0), (ACCmax), (Smax) slope (ASslope). Significant found within positions day for all (p < 0.05). Match (MD) showed greater values than training sessions A0, ACCmax Smax highest associated with capabilities CD on MD, whereas higher WMF. MD-2 lowest except ASslope. Maximal sprint abilities are therefore affected position. Wide capacity, presented likely profile. Higher concerning day, achieved not reproduced during consequent injury risk performance decrease it takes.
