ABSTRACT
Abstract Despite the observed associations between psychiatric disorders and nutrient intake, genetic studies are limited. We examined whether polygenic scores for associated with intake in UK Biobank ( N = 163,619) using linear mixed models. found attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, bipolar schizophrenia showed highest number of associations, while a score autism spectrum disorder no association. The relatively weaker obsessive-compulsive greatest effect sizes suggesting its association diet traits may become more apparent larger genome-wide analyses. A higher alcohol dependence was individuals persistent thinness reported their food to weigh less, both independent socioeconomic status. Our findings suggest that propensity is dietary behaviour. Note, self-reported must therefore be interpreted mindfully.
