ABSTRACT
Abstract Age is associated with progressively impaired, metabolic, cardiac and vascular function, as well reduced work/exercise capacity, mobility, hence quality of life. Exercise exhibit positive effects on age-related dysfunctions diseases. However, for a variety reasons many aged individuals are unable to engage in regular physical activity, making the development pharmacological treatments that mimics beneficial exercise highly desirable. Here we show pan-AMPK activator O304, which tolerated humans, prevented reverted age-associated hyperinsulinemia insulin resistance, improved function capacity mice. These results provide preclinical evidence O304 exercise. Thus, an mimetic clinical development, AMPK holds great potential mitigate metabolic dysfunction, improve life individuals.
