ABSTRACT
Abstract Model organisms are widely used for understanding basic biology and have significantly contributed to the study of human disease. In recent years, genomic analysis has provided extensive evidence widespread conservation gene sequence function amongst eukaryotes, allowing insights from model help decipher in a wider range species. The InterMOD consortium is developing an infrastructure based around InterMine data warehouse system integrate functional number key organisms, leading way improved cross-species research. So far including budding yeast, nematode worm, fruit fly, zebrafish, rat mouse, project set up warehouses, synchronized models created tools links between different unites major organism databases, improving both consistency accessibility comparative research, benefit scientific community.
