ABSTRACT
Isolated attosecond pulses (IAP) generated by high-order harmonic generation are valuable tools that enable dynamics to be studied on the time scale. The applicability of these IAP would widened drastically increasing their energy. Here we analyze potential using multi-colour driving for temporally gating pulse process. We devise how this approach can with available high-energy kHz-repetition-rate Ytterbium-based laser amplifiers (delivering 180-fs, 1030-nm pulses). show theoretically requires a three-colour field composed fundamental and its second as well lower-frequency auxiliary component. present characterization measurements such directly white-light seeded OPA required significantly shorter duration than fundamental. This, combined our recent experimental results waveform synthesis [Phys. Rev. X 4, 021028 (2014)], proves considered drivers realized existing high-power technology. driver pulses, strongly enhanced single-atom-level conversion efficiency observe in calculations, thus make prime candidates development unprecedented sources near future.
