ABSTRACT
Abstract The potential for circulating tumor cells (CTCs) to elucidate the process of cancer metastasis and inform clinical decision-making has made their isolation great importance. However, CTCs are rare in blood universal properties with which identify them remain elusive. As technological advancements have single-cell deformability measurements increasingly routine, assessment physical distinctions between may provide insight into feasibility deformability-based methods identifying patient blood. To this end, we present an initial study assessing differences cells, indicated by length time required pass through a microfluidic constriction. Here, demonstrate that changes undergone phenotypic shifts small compared cell lines cells. Additionally, syngeneic mouse model, able exit enter circulation not be more deformable than were first injected mouse. limited metastatic prostate patients provides evidence some mechanically similar typical lines.
