ABSTRACT
Abstract Bifidobacteria are members of the human gut microbiota, being numerically dominant in colon infants, while also prevalent large intestine adults. In this study, we determined and analyzed pan-genome Bifidobacterium adolescentis , which is one many bacteria found adult microbiota. silico analysis genome sequences eighteen B. strains isolated from various environments, such as milk, feces bovine rumen, revealed a high level genetic variability, resulting an open pan-genome. Compared to other bifidobacterial taxa bifidum breve more extensive supports hypothesis that arsenal taxon expanded so become adaptable variable changing ecological niche gut. These increased capabilities particularly evident for genes required dietary glycan-breakdown.
