ABSTRACT
Abstract When an electronic system has strong correlations and a large spin-orbit interaction, it often exhibits plethora of mutually competing quantum phases. How particular ground state is selected out several possibilities very interesting question. However, equally fascinating how such entangled breaks up due to perturbation. This important question relevance in diverse fields science from strongly correlated electron physics information. Here we report that dimerized or valence bond crystal (VBC) phase Li 2 RuO 3 shows nontrivial doping dependence as perturb the Ru honeycomb lattice by replacing with Li. Through extensive experimental studies, demonstrate VBC melts into liquid RVB (resonating bond) type. offers playground where one can test refine our current understanding phases single compound.
