ABSTRACT
This paper reports a novel combination of hydrophilic/hydrophobic materials for the evolution liquid manipulation. Droplet generation based on mechanism is promising method highly accurate manipulations. Although several droplet manipulation devices utilizing patterns have been reported, it has difficult to split fluid into droplets solely through in microchannel. In this study, material fabricating was investigated and their wettability difference enhanced generation. To improve hydrophilicity, we attempted increase surface area silicon oxide pulsed plasma chemical vapor deposition (PPCVD). hydrophobicity, damage hydrophobic fabrication process reduced. We successfully contact angles from 54.3° 86.6° by combining developed hydrophilic material. The could quantitative 14.1 nL microfluidic chip. Because enables formation with desirable shape microchannels, component lab-on-a-chip applications.
