ABSTRACT
Polymer solar cells were prepared in large numbers using roll-to-roll methods and subsequently integrated into the Organic Electronics Association (OE-A) demonstrator year 2011 presented as a small credit card sized lamp with flat outline. The comprised polymer cell together printed circuitry, discrete components flexible lithium batteries. number of steps required for manufacture was 35 more than 10 000 units manufactured. We describe efforts towards increasing technical yield which 89% overall discuss compromises that had to be made achieve high process automated possible. All preparation cell, circuitry overlays performed full methods. mounting components, such LED, diode Zener diode, sheets 15 fully SMD machine. batteries, contacts final testing done manually. lamination laser cutting lamps systems.
