ABSTRACT
Reactions in water between the disodium salt of 4,4′-oxy-bis-benzoic acid (H2oba) and lanthanide chlorides lead to three families coordination polymers with respective general chemical formulae [Ln2(oba)3(H2O)5·H2O]∞ Ln = La–Nd (Family 1), [Ln2(oba)3(H2O)6·3H2O]∞ Sm–Ho or Y 2) [Ln2(oba)3(H2O)5.5·0.5H2O]∞ Sm–Dy 3). Compounds that belong Family 1 are isostructural. The crystal structure has been solved on basis La-containing compound.
