ABSTRACT
A novel series of highly similar and comparable metal-free organic dyes have been designed synthesized for dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs). The end-capped groups, namely, diphenylethylene, triphenylethylene, tetraphenylethylene, significant effects on the performance DSSCs. DSSC based a triphenylethylene dye exhibits highest power conversion efficiency (η) 6.29%, whereas that tetraphenylethylene has open-circuit photovoltage (Voc) 804 mV. Voc DSSCs can be greatly improved upon incorporation twisted non-planar aggregation-induced emission (AIE) moiety in molecular structure dyes. group with moderately is found to suitable improvement efficiency. exhibit an aggregation-caused quenching effect, i.e., do not emit light after being adsorbed TiO2 films, although they contain moieties.
