ABSTRACT
In the present work, we proved efficacy of cellulose citrate to remove methylene blue (MB) from artificially contaminated water. MB is a widely used dye, but because its chemical aromatic structure, it significantly stable with quite slow biodegradation, causing consequent serious health problems for people and significant environmental pollution. Cellulose citrate, bio-adsorbent proposed studied by us remediate water polluted MB, produced green, cheap fast procedure that makes use two abundant natural products, citric acid. The average groups each glucose unit chains allows this material have many carboxylic available interaction cationic dye. characterization was carried out through FT-IR, SEM, specific surface area, pore structure parameters zeta potential. negative value potential at neutral pH consistent affinity adsorption compounds like MB. activity adsorbent different times, temperatures, concentrations investigated. process followed monolayer typical Langmuir model, maximum capacity 96.2 mg g
