ABSTRACT
Molybdenum disulphide (MoS2) is a layered material with interesting photocatalytic properties. In this study, MoS2 was produced using hydrothermal method. The obtained characterised by XRD (X-ray diffraction), XPS photoelectron spectroscopy), SEM (scanning electron microscopy), UV-Vis spectroscopy, DLS (dynamic light scattering), and zeta potential analysis. For the evaluation of properties MoS2, solution bromophenol blue (BPB) catalyst illuminated for 120 minutes. According to experimental results, exhibited excellent catalytic activity in BPB degradation. preparation method enabled improved harvesting, avoided fast charge recombination (related bulk MoS2), created large number suitable transfer sites reactions. Simulation decay bromide production carried out further understanding action. simulation results proved reduction mechanism photodegradation.
