ABSTRACT
Purpose The Consensus Auditory-Perceptual Evaluation of Voice (CAPE-V) was developed to provide a protocol and form for clinicians use when assessing the voice quality adults with disorders (Kempster, Gerratt, Verdolini Abbott, Barkmeier-Kramer, & Hillman, 2009). This study examined reliability empirical validity CAPE-V used by experienced judging normal disordered voices. Method in 2 ways. First, we compared judgments made 21 raters 22 37 voices using GRBAS (grade, roughness, breathiness, asthenia, strain; see Hirano, 1981) scales. Second, our raters' overall severity priori consensus 59 Results Intrarater coefficients ranged from .82 breathiness .35 interrater .76 .28 pitch. Conclusions Although both varied across parameters, this reports slightly improved rater make perceptual comparison scale. results evidence (concurrent) CAPE-V.
