ABSTRACT
Systemic but not topical tacrolimus (TAC) is effective against psoriasis. Mechanical methods that enhance skin penetration by TAC increase its antipsoriatic effect. Liposomal delivery of would skin, allow for slow release and diminish toxicity. To test a liposomal (LTAC) formulation in murine model.Drug was assessed using radiolabelled LTAC, the effect LTAC on Balb/c graft survival ovalbumin-induced delayed-type hypersensitivity reactions tested C57BL/6 mice.Radiotracer studies showed application achieved nine times concentration at target site than did systemic administration TAC. Combination significantly increased mean +/- SD (14.8 1.5 days) compared with (8.0 0.7 control mice (8.4 1.2 days). more systemically prevention reactions. Topical also prevented this response.Topical model immune-mediated disease. Because achieves higher concentrations it may be an system treatment
