ABSTRACT
Summary Total and differential leucocyte counts (lymphocytes, neutrophils, monocytes, eosinophils basophils) were measured in 140 stallions, 101 mares 25 foals of Lipizzan breed. The values fell the normal ranges for warm‐blooded horses. Differences between stallions not significant with exception foals, having higher white blood cell, neutrophil, lymphocyte, monocyte basophil females than males. Foals exhibited an age‐related increase total count during first 4 months life, accompanied by a decrease neutrophil lymphocyte eosinophil counts. In number leucocytes, lymphocytes, monocytes basophils significantly decreased but neutrophils remained almost unchanged age gain.
