Patterns of Fruit and Vegetable Intake in Adults With and Without Chronic Kidney Disease in the United States

ABSTRACT
To characterize patterns of fruit and vegetable (F&V) intake in US adults with without chronic kidney disease (CKD).We used 24-hour dietary recall data from multiple cycles the National Health Nutrition Examination Survey spanning 3 groups 1988 to 2018 (1988-1994; 2003-2010; 2011-2018). We categorized F&Vs based on food processing phytochemical content. assessed using latent class analysis compared across temporal cohorts CKD status weighted multinomial logistic regression.Four similar emerged each cycle: Overall Low Intake, High Unprocessed, Ultra-Processed, Moderate Processed F&Vs. The Intake pattern was most prevalent all groups. After adjustment for demographic variables selected health conditions, participants were more likely be classified as cohort, although this not significant 2011-2018.Low consumption common patients CKD.
