ABSTRACT
Summary The influence of the sympathetic nervous system on platelet functions in vivo is still controversial. aims our study were to compare response various stimuli normal subjects and patients with essential hypertension (HT) or peripheral vascular disease (PVD) evaluate any correlations among plasma levels catecholamines, beta-thrombo-globulin (β-TG) factor 4 (PF4). In basal conditions β-TG PF4 values HT higher than those observed controls same age but lower PVD patients. Although different (90° tilting, handgrip, treadmill test, bicycle test) caused a significant increase epinephrine (E) norepinephrine (NE) levels, they did not modify groups studied. activation indices, therefore, regardless values, do seem be influenced by stimulation.
