ABSTRACT
Objective: The superiority of risperidone long-acting injection (RLAI) over oral typical and atypical antipsychotics demonstrated in previous studies may be related to the improved drug compliance. aim 12-week randomized, single-blind study was test whether RLAI remained among hospitalized patients that compliance could optimally controlled. Methods: Fifty stable schizophrenic patients, who had maintained on for more than 3 months, were randomized group. Finally 49 (98 %) completed study, no dose change risperidone, or noted all patients. Results: group showed significantly increased positive score Positive Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS) (0.72 ± 3.52 vs. –1.24 3.81, p = 0.022), but without significance difference PANSS total, negative general psychopathology scores. also a Udvalg Kliniske Undersogelser (UKU) (p 0.037), social life domains Short-From Health Survey (SF-36) 0.011), reduced prolactin level 0.001). Conclusion: results indicated with optimal controlling benefit efficacy advantages side-effect profiles, ratings, levels.
