ABSTRACT
Environmental quality is a driving force for the sustainable development of tourism in 21st century. Nevertheless, increasing pressures placed upon stocks natural capital call integrated approaches to balance impacts activities. Recent growth trends golf industry are strengthening its potential become vehicle competitive and tourism. On other hand, courses cause undisputed environmental impacts, which require effective management control. This paper presents sustainability assessment framework results from application Algarve's courses. A key element analysis was performance indicators. It concluded that position existing dimension could be improved if tools were implemented by many clubs. measure would bring indicators closer benchmarking values with best performance. In terms economic social performance, show profitable business, whether as an anchor tourist development, or sporting activity on own.
