ABSTRACT
It has been shown that the laser shock cleaning (LSC) method is effective for eliminating micron- and submicron-scale particulates from solid surfaces. In LSC process, a high-power pulse induces optical breakdown of ambient gas close to surface be cleaned subsequently-created wave followed by high-speed flow stream detaches particles. Therefore, there should strong correlation between dynamics performance. this work, experimental analyses are conducted measure performance using micron-sized alumina particles attached silicon surface. The data showing particle-removal compared with results laser-induced waves, leading simple model particle removal scheme in continuum-flow regime.
