ABSTRACT
Numerical simulation for the two models in cross‐wind was carried out this paper. The three‐dimensional compressible Reynolds‐averaged Navier‐Stokes equations(RANS), combined with standard k‐ε turbulence model, were solved on multi‐block hybrid grids by second order upwind finite volume technique. impact of fairing aerodynamic characteristics train analyzed. It is shown that, flow separates and a strong vortex generated, pressure upper middle car decreases dramatically, which leads to large lift force. changes basic patterns around trains. In addition, formulas coefficient force at small yaw angles up 24° expressed.
