ABSTRACT
As a new device, plasma window has been designed to use discharge separate atmosphere from vacuum with high difference of pressure. It many excellent properties, being able be used as available passage for ion beam negligible energy loss, also impervious radiation damage and thermal damage. Normally focusing by accelerators is not that easy achieve within channel small cross section. 10 mm diameter window's experimental realization could contribute its further application in accelerator system. In this paper, 60 long first managed generate arc argon gas experimentally. The result proves it the ability at least 28.8 kPa (not upper limit) 360 Pa 50 A direct current 2.5 kW power supplied. Current increase leads linear inlet pressure obviously, while less impact on outlet voltage, coming conclusion higher discharge, larger creates. Theoretical analysis axis symmetrical configuration using provided, which numerical 2D FLUENT-based magneto-hydrodynamic simulation model settled. good agreement voltage mass flow rate when increased.
