ABSTRACT
The present work completes the validation of depth-semi-averaged model defined in Antuono et al. [“A depth semi-averaged for coastal dynamics,” Phys. Fluids 29, 056603 (2017)] providing a numerical implementation three spatial dimensions. In particular, is aimed at describing wide variety phenomena typical region, as example nonlinear interaction between waves and bottom bathymetry (diffraction/refraction phenomena), dispersion effects, beach inundation. To this purpose, proposed scheme tested against benchmark experimental data available literature wave propagation problems both intermediate shallow water conditions. A final simulation carried out by considering tsunami running over prototype resembling bay-promontory coastline. Different widths bay have been considered, their influence on run-up dynamics.
