ABSTRACT
Optical whispering-gallery mode (WGM) sensors have been developed for the detection of clinically relevant biomolecules, materials in different phases and forms, field-based sensing applications. The optical resonance inside a microsphere cavity, induced by total internal reflection that excites WGM, small refractive index change caused loading nano-scale particles, results detectable shift resonant dip. We confirmed this volume-dependent reactive mechanism using SiO2 nanoparticles obtained optimal radius verifying wavelength through controlling size microsphere. By comparing simulated experimental results, sensitivity is approaching single nanoparticle regime. Then, microfluidic system was built to investigate influence dip rise water temperature heating effect near-infrared lasers. showed could greatly suppress thermal even 1550 nm laser. Furthermore, when system, WGM laser shows higher stability than 852 This work offers possibility aqueous solutions with c-band
