ABSTRACT
Pax2 is a transcription factor that crucial for kidney development, and it also expressed in the normal adult kidney, where its physiological function unknown. In present study, we find by cDNA microarray analysis expression second-passage mouse inner-medullary epithelial cells increased high NaCl concentration, which significant because levels are normally inner medulla vivo , varies with urinary concentration. Furthermore, concentration increases mRNA protein medullary collecting duct (mIMCD3) cells, transcriptional activity. renal but much lower cortex. both cortex thin descending limbs of Henle's loop medulla. Treating Brattleboro rats desamino-Cys-1, d -Arg-8 vasopressin, causes 4-fold increase protein. Treatment furosemide, decreases NaCl, reduces Pax2-specific short interfering RNA concentration-induced activation caspase-3 apoptotic bodies mIMCD3 cells. We thus conclude ( i ) medulla, ii regulated there variable iii protects from apoptosis.
