ABSTRACT
The activation of the cellular oncogene c-mos in mouse plasmacytoma XRPC24 was found to result from insertion a 4.7-kilobase-pair DNA element, within coding region. element terminates on both sides with direct repeat around 335 nucleotides. as well internal sequences show strong homology endogenous intracisternal A-particle (IAP) genes. IAP genome integrated head-to-head (5' 5') configuration. This juxtapositioned 5' long terminal next bulk oncogene's region and shifted flanking position further upstream. significance several aspects this transposition event is discussed.
