ABSTRACT
Isolation and structural characterization of the rat corticotropin releasing factor receptor (CRFR) gene was performed to determine exon/intron organization coding region potential for splice variants. The CRFR contains 13 exons 12 introns, positions junctions are similar those other Class II G protein-coupled genes including parathyroid hormone glucagon receptors. promoter resides within 593 base pairs initiation codon major transcriptional start site at nucleotide −238. This domain does not possess a TATA box but multiple Sp1 AP-2 sites upstream downstream site. Intron were identified in extracellular, transmembrane (TM), cytoplasmic (C) domains CRFR, giving differential signal transduction by cDNAs derived from Leydig cell mRNA included pituitary Form A, which spans 1–13, two variants with deletion exon 3 or 7, 11, 12. An evolutionary link between intronless TM/C module glycoprotein receptors intron-containing is suggested common position luteinizing D alternate acceptor intron
