ABSTRACT
Abstract This paper presents the Uralic Areal Typology Online (UraTyp 1.0), a typological dataset of 35 languages and total 360 features, mainly covering levels morphology, syntax, phonology. The features belong to two different datasets: 195 features’ definitions originate from Grambank (GB) database, developed for comparison world language typology, whereas 165 (UT) have been designed specifically describe variation within family. We present series analyses demonstrating its scope possibilities. complete data set correctly identifies main subgroups in Principal Components Analysis, GB alone is insufficiently granular detect this family-internal structure. Similar limited various subdomains also give variable results. A model-based admixture analysis four distinct areas historical interaction: Saami, Finnic, Volga area Ob-Ugric.
