ABSTRACT
Abstract Accurate quality information on cloud occurrence is of utmost importance for a wide range remote-sensing applications and analyses. This study compares the two existing mask products available Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS), stored in layer MOD09 daily surface reflectance product. For both masks, statistics are calculated 1 year data covering area southeast Asia. Furthermore, enhancement algorithm presented increasing flag reliability by effectively combining labels together with utilization annual based blue band. since lot compositing algorithms rely filtering unsuitable observations, influence different masks 8-day MOD09A1 composite outputs examined respect to availability average view angles. The results statistical analysis show that accuracy differs significantly Particularly, radiative land cover proves strongly affect flags, although varying degrees throughout year. successfully identifies undetected clear observations original while simultaneously setting upper limits atmospheric contamination. In this manner, considerably higher proportions cloud-free can be retained compared clear-sky conservative combination as applied other algorithms.
