ABSTRACT
Biofortification of crops with lithium (Li) is a new trend in agriculture and researches on this subject still scarce, therefore, work aims to evaluate the accumulation potential effects agronomic characteristics lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) submitted foliar application two Li chemical sources different concentrations. The experiment was conducted greenhouse applications hydroxide (LiOH) sulfate (Li2SO4) were done via spray at concentrations ranging from 0 40 mg dm−3. divided into three distributed 15, 25, 35 days after transplanting. Positive promising results observed accumulation. High (40 dm−3) may compromise development plants, however, lower applied (16 26 dm−3 Li) promoted an increase dry weight roots shoot/root ratio, both forms, stem diameter specific leaf area, Li2SO4, suggesting beneficial effect element. shoots depend element solution but not its form.
