Materialism has a generally held connotation that is associated with character deficiencies, self-centeredness, and unhappiness, most extant research views materialism as having negative influence on well-being. In this article, we review synthesise supports both positive outcomes of behaviours materialism. We conceptualise in terms the motives underlying materialistic behaviour, situate our synthesis within context. doing so, document utility motives-based view propose agendas arise from perspective.
