ABSTRACT
The addition of calcium carbonate to cigarette paper can enhance its combustion performance and apparent properties. However, it does come at the cost reduced strength. In this study, a flexible (FCC) was developed through in-situ formation on nanocellulose surfaces. incorporation FCC into offered potential improve filler retention while maintaining high results study demonstrated that when compared 30% precipitated (PCC), rate in increased by 31.5% used. Scanning electron microscopy images showed only minimal number inorganic particles were observed between fibers FCC-containing paper, indicating appropriate air permeability fiber-fiber bond Furthermore, PCC-containing exhibited an 8.8% increase tensile strength 7.5% folding resistance. Additionally, thermogravimetric analysis revealed effectively lowered thermal decomposition temperature, leading 10.3% paper. inclusion has regulate burning performance. Consequently, holds promise as substitute for traditional fillers applications.
