ABSTRACT
It has not been clarified whether the anti-atherosclerotic effect of lingonberry can be ascribed to its content flavonoids or dietary fibre both. The aim this study was evaluate metabolic effects whole lingonberries compared with isolated flavonoid and fractions on atherosclerotic plaques, plasma lipid profiles, gut microbiota microbiota-dependent metabolites in an Apoe-/- mouse model. Mice fed showed lowest amount while mice fraction had highest formation caecal butyric acid. Flavonoids, rather than fibre, were suggested components that favour proliferation Akkermansia, as judged by abundance bacterium fraction. All groups diets both, lower Firmicutes/Bacteroidetes ratios creatinine concentrations, control. To conclude, different are associated physiological mice.
