ABSTRACT
A species-specific polymerase chain reaction (PCR) was developed for the identification of beef that is cattle (Bos indicus) meat by targeting mitochondrial D-loop region. pair beef-specific primers designed to amplify conserved region and possibility cross-amplification ruled taking into account other species comprising mammals, birds, rodents fish. The amplified PCR product 381 bp evident in raw (n = 20), cooked (60, 80 100°C), autoclaved (121°C) micro-oven processed samples. Sensitivity assay at 0.1% detection adulteration limit (LOD) DNA 0.1 picograms (pg). Newly rapid sensitive hence could be applied meat.
