Creating a Process for Equitable Action to Prevent School and Community Violence

ABSTRACT
This article presents the Readiness for Solutions to Lower Violence Model (ReSOLV) a model generated from Elinor Ostrom's Institutional Analysis Framework, as an alternative approach adopting equitable and evidence-based strategies reduce violence in schools communities. The explores application of within context three unique study sites longitudinal California involving one large county urban school district county, small city district, rural district. We review prevailing approaches responding public safety problems examine relevant literature on individual, organizational community readiness change status quo favor solutions. Implications research practice are discussed.
