ABSTRACT
This paper offers a fresh perspective on the predominant narrative that links climate change to migration. We review how this is being used promote securitization policies and limit migration avenues. propose reinterpretation of connection by drawing its current critique acknowledging alternative conclusions emerge from local perceptions change. explore human development perspectives demonstrate context-specific power structures politics behind causes (non-)migration, inhibit freedom choice individuals households over possible migratory decisions under changing threats dangers. To achieve well-being social justice necessary for cope with conditions (non-)climate change, we conclude aspirations must shift focus capital capability.
