ABSTRACT
Upon antigenic stimulation, naïve CD4+ T cells can give rise to phenotypically distinct effector helper and long-lived memory cells. We computationally reconstructed the in vivo trajectory of cell differentiation during a type I inflammatory immune response identified two paths for precursor central arising directly from Unexpectedly, our studies revealed heterogeneity among cells, which are typically considered homogeneous save their diverse receptor usage. Specifically, previously unappreciated population sensing environmental IFN exhibited activation thresholds, suggesting that potential may be influenced by cues. This was expanded human viral infection response-lined autoimmunity. Understanding relevance beneficial maladaptive responses have therapeutic implications adoptive therapies cancer immunotherapy vaccination.
