ABSTRACT
Background: Anaplastic thyroid carcinoma (ATC) is a rare and frequently fatal type of cancer. The degree heterogeneity in survival rates for ATC incompletely studied. This study evaluated the factors associated with overall (OS) patients using multicenter real-world data from national tertiary care center network France. Methods: In this multicenter, retrospective cohort study, all diagnosed between 2010 2020 were identified database French ENDOCAN-TUTHYREF network. Factors OS examined multivariable analyses Cox proportional hazards models. Results: included 360 patients. Of these, 220 (61%) female median age was 72 years (interquartile range: 62–80). percentages pure mixed (synchronously-transformed) (p-ATC st-ATC) 62.5% 26.7%, respectively. 6.8 months [confidence interval, CI: 5.5–8.1]: not reached stage IVa, 11.4 [8.2–17.8] IVb, 4.6 [3.5–5.7] IVc. Surgery, radiation therapy to neck, chemotherapy, best supportive administered 69 (19.2%), 214 (59.4%), 254 (70.6%), 66 (18.3%) patients, analysis, including IVb–IVc significantly higher observed Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group performance-status 0–1 (hazard ratio [HR], 0.6; [CI, 0.4–0.9], p < 0.02), IVb [HR, 0.5; CI, 0.4–0.8, 0.001], multimodal treatment (surgery chemoradiotherapy) 0.07; 0.04–0.1, 0.001]. Variables worse included: p-ATC (vs. 1.83; 1.33–2.51, = 0.001] neutrophil-to-lymphocyte (NLR) >5.05 2.05, 1.39–3.05, Conclusions: independently improved European performance status, disease stage, multimodality treatment, synchronously transformed ATC, lower NLR. Long-term selected who underwent treatment.
