ABSTRACT
To develop Swahili versions of the Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test (AUDIT) and CAGE questionnaires evaluate their psychometric properties in a traumatic brain injury (TBI) population Tanzania.Swahili AUDIT were developed through translation back-translation by panel native speakers both English Swahili. The translated instruments administered to sample Tanzanian adults from TBI registry. validity reliability analyzed using standard statistical methods.The found have excellent language clarity domain coherence. Reliability was acceptable (>0.85) for all tested versions. Confirmatory factor analysis one, two three solution one showed adequate results. scores strongly correlated each other (R > 0.80), significantly lower non-drinkers compared drinkers.This article presents first adaptations as well validation these with patients.
