Health promotion strategies toward improved healthcare access for migrants and refugees in Europe: MyHealth recommendations

ABSTRACT
MyHealth European project (2017-2020) was committed to elaborate on models engage vulnerable migrants and refugees (VMR) in their health through community involvement. Low healthcare access poor quality of services for VMR is a common reality many countries. The purpose the present study, as part project, development an agenda actions consequent recommendations tackle issue. A qualitative research design applied at four study sites Barcelona, Spain; Berlin, Germany; Brno, Czech Republic Athens, Greece. Metaplan® group discussions allowed collection, organization process ideas opinions elaborated collaborative groups. In total, 14 sessions took place: 4 with social professionals (n = 41) 10 77). participatory thematic analysis performed every session overall all synthesized findings. suggested were divided into two levels recommendations: (i) local authorities destination country-related, such investment professionals' cultural competences, (ii) VMR-related, adaptation help-seeking behavior patterns.
