Development of a health-promoting sports club’s intervention in France applying participatory action research

ABSTRACT
The recognition of sports clubs (SC) as health-promoting settings is increasing, well the number health promotion (HP) interventions implemented in this setting. However, minimal understanding their development process and persistent gap between theoretical knowledge real-life practice a major limitation to implementation. This article describes participatory research approach, implicating 29 stakeholders HP (6 researchers, 9 professionals, 6 representatives from regional national organizations 8 SC), leading co-construction SC intervention. Stakeholders were mobilized through four stages: (i) analysis effective programs, (ii) workshops, (iii) evaluation relevance acceptability, (iv) beta-testing massive open online course (MOOC).
